The MLBB MSC was first established in 2017, around a year after Mobile Legends was released. It was the first MLBB professional Major in Jakarta, Indonesia, featuring eight professional teams. Thailand team Idonotsleep Esports took home the first-ever MSC trophy and made history.

The MLBB Southeast Asia Cup 2023 was canceled due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, and due to international travel restrictions and government regulations, the events were impossible to be held.

The MSC is hosted in a different country each year, with previous locations including Manila and Kuala Lumpur in 2019 and 2022, respectively. MLBB Southeast Asia Cup 2023: Format

The MLBB Southeast Asia Cup is split into a Group Stage and Knockout Stage. The prize pool for MLBB Southeast Asia Cup is yet to be announced.

Group Stage (June 10-13)

• 12 teams are divided into four groups of three teams
• All matches in a single round-robin format, best-of-three
• The top two teams from each group advance to the Knockout Stage, for six teams in total

Knockout Stage (June 15-18)

• Matches are played in a single elimination bracket.
• All games are best-of-five, except the Grand Final, which is the best-of-seven.
