VCT runs several regional events worldwide in EMEA, China, Americas, and Pacific, all culminating in Valorant Champions, the top-level event of the professional Valorant circuit near the end of the year.

The inaugural season of VCT in 2021 was divided into three stages: Challengers, Masters, and Champions. The Challengers stage consisted of regional tournaments where teams competed to qualify for the Masters stage, which brought together the top teams from each region to compete for a spot in the international Champions tournament.

The Champions tournament, held in December 2021, featured the top 16 teams from around the world competing for a $1 million prize pool. The tournament was won by the North American team Sentinels.

In 2022, Riot Games expanded the VCT to include a fourth stage, the Last Chance Qualifier, which allowed teams one last chance to qualify for the Champions tournament. The format of the tournament remained similar, with regional tournaments leading up to the Masters and Champions stages.

The 2023 VCT season saw a new format, split into three international regions - EMEA, Americas, and Pacific - instead of the seven regions format they used previously. The new format saw teams playing in sub-regional Valorant Challengers to qualify for the Ascension events. These events had one winner per region, which earned them a two-year promotion into their region's International League.

2024 has seen yet another revamp to the competitive Valorant system, with the all-new Kickoff events for each region. There will be two VCT splits this season, headed by two VCT Masters tournaments this year, with Masters Madrid in March and Masters Shanghai in May. The competitive year ends with a bang with VCT Champions, featuring only the best of the best.

Valorant Champions Tour: Schedule

While VCT LOCK//IN Brazil 2023 was the first event that kicked off the 2023 Valorant Champions Tour, the schedule has been switched for the 2024 VCT season, alongside a different schedule. VCT China has also joined Valorant Champions Tour as the fourth international league, seeing a whole host of fresh talent on display.

This year, each region will set things off with their own Kickoff Event, all beginning in February. Take a look below for the full VCT Kickoff schedule:

• VCT Americas Kickoff: February 16 - March 3
• VCT Pacific Kickoff: February 17 - February 25
• VCT EMEA Kickoff: February 20 - March 1
• VCT China Kickoff: February 22 - March 2

The two teams from each Kickoff tournament will automatically qualify for VCT Masters Madrid, held towards the end of March. After that, the regular season for each regional league will begin as teams fight to earn the new circuit points, which will determine whether or not they qualify for VCT Champions later in the year. VCT Masters Shangai later in the year also gives the best teams another chance to earn their spot in Champions.

August signals the end of the entire year of the competitive Valorant scene with the Valorant Champions event. Only the best of the best would remain, so it's sure to be an exciting season ahead.

Valorant Champions Tour: Format

All international leagues in VCT 2024 will follow the same format, and each will have eleven teams competing, as one team joins each league's previously-partnered teams as the winner from VCT Ascension 2023.

There is no prize pool for any of the VCT Kickoff events, as they compete for three circuit points to put towards their overall total. We'll update this section when the respective prize pools are announced for each regional league.

Group Stage

• There will be three double-elimination format groups consisting of four teams, except Group C, the smallest group, consisting of three teams.
• All matches are Bo3.
• The top team from each group advances to the Playoff Stage, while the second-place teams advance to the Play-In Stage.
• The remaining teams are eliminated.

Play-In Stage

• There will be a single-round-robin format between the three teams.
• All matches are Bo3.
• The winning team advances to the Playoff Stage.

Playoffs

• Four teams compete in a single-elimination bracket.
• Semifinals are Bo3, while the Grand Final is Bo5.
• The top two teams qualify to VCT Masters Madrid, which is held in March.
